Woolf Aircraft Products Turns Welding Competition Center
To support the highest level of training welders, companies are used to turning their production areas into a ground to improve skills of inexperienced welders. Besides, competitions are held to demonstrate what skills are needed to be developed to be a professional welder and to earn a lot of money. That is one of the reasons Woolf Aircraft Products stops the production process once a year and lets welders to compete between each other.
This competition was initiated to check the skills of students that acquired the welding classes in one of the local technical centers called William D. Ford Career. Students are engaged in a lot of activities such as welding, fabricating and inspecting parts. The competition is organized by one of the quality engineers at the William D. Ford Career Technical Center and serves as a stimulant for young professionals to achieve better results in their work.
Besides, any of the participating students will have a chance to win prizes that include helmets, bags and gloves. At the same time, the technical school intends to attract the attention of companies that need professional welders as they experience a certain demand and if there are no skilled welders, the production will decrease and students will not be ready for a real-world experience. The main mission of the center is not just to provide the needed knowledge in the sphere of welding but to prepare students to solve real life problems.
Any welder should know how business works and the ways to achieve certain business goals. The competition is held thanks to donations the center gets from the companies located in the area and as a result the companies have a chance to get professional welders to improve the production process and to increase the quality of the performed work.
