East Central College to Promote MIG Welding Program
Thanks to the grant provided by East Central College, the first nine students managed to complete the Introduction to MIG Welding course at the Rolla Technical Institute. It is the first Metal Inert Gas Welding program in the city and participants of it were awarded with certificates of completion. The welding program includes eight weeks of training that is performed in one of the labs of the Rolla Technical Institute. In addition to training, students managed to get welding instructions that lasted five weeks.
The significance of this program is great as the college will have a chance to enhance the skills of the local welders and to meet the requirements of the industries that need the workforce. That is why the cooperation of East Central College and Rolla Technical Institute is really crucial for training students and satisfying the demands of the local companies. Besides, there are four locations where the college can offer this education and training in the region.
Those people who would like to become welders or they want to enhance their skills, the welding program will be held Monday and Thursday evenings. Besides, the registration of new welding groups has already started and you can register today already. Those students that have experience in welding will just need $40 for participating in the welding program. They will also need to have certain materials and equipment. The extensive information on the registration and program may be found at www.eastcentral.edu/moman.
If you think that information is not enough, you will have a chance to call at 636-239-0598 and details on the MIG welding program will become available to you. The financial support of the welding program is provided by Missouri Manufacturing WINs that has a mission to provide skilled workers with the help of low-cost or free training.
