Free Welding Program from Milwaukee Area Technical College

It has been announced that Milwaukee Area Technical College is going to provide young people with an opportunity to get a welding certificate for free. The thing is that the college has received a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor that may cover the expenses on an entry-level welding certificate program. The program will be open to public in May and those people that are interested in getting a new carrier will have a chance to get skills or to improve them.

This free welding program will be a part of a $14.9 million grant within the limits of the Labor Department’s Making the Future project. The demand for skilled workers by manufacturers is so high that they can pay colleges for skilled workers that could come and work. The situation with the increased demand for workers is formed due to a growing number of welders that retire and get older. As a result, companies need to make sure that young workforce will be enough to fill all the gaps.Welding Program

The shortage in welders and fabricators may cause a sort of decline in the business expansion and growth. Besides, the economy of certain states may get into a deep depression. Free education and training is the first effective measure taken by manufacturers to attract young people and to gain the stability needed at the moment. Motivation in the form of free education is significant and a lot of people will take a chance to use it.

The program is to start on May 26 and students will be able to get their certificates on July 24. It is not a long way to become a welder and earn good wages. Students will have a chance to get knowledge in safety, math and welding. In addition, students will have a chance to participate a welding technical diploma program on completion.
