PRCC Welding Program Provides Job Opportunities
Pearl River Community College in Poplarville, Mississippi has been offering welding courses for several hundred dollars. It allows those who finish the program earn a lot more, even double their current salaries. PRCC accepts students who don’t have experience in welding. There are some people who enroll in the PRCC welding course to help them with their current jobs. They will upgrade their skills through the program and results to better pay check after the completion of the program.
As early as today, Pearl River Community College is already accepting applications for the welding and cutting course for the spring semester. The will start on January 6 and end on April 23. Classes of the three month long course meet every Monday to Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Classes are held in the Career Education Building on PRCC’s Poplarville campus.
The PRCC course provides a certification recognized by the industry that includes applications for NCCER certification and OSHA certifications on ten hour and basic lift truck operator. The course tackles beginners’ craft skills, and Levels 1 and 2 Welding modules. 
The Pearl River Community College welding course costs $300. For the course, students must bring their own welding shield, cap, gloves, long sleeve shirt, safety glasses, ear plugs, and steel toed shoes. Applicants must be 18 years old before the class starts to qualify. Other qualifications of the course include a clean drug test and the payment receipt to Shelia in the Career Education Building. Payments must be made to the Pearl River Community College business office. Keep in mind that the PRCC will not be open on December 18 to January 4 for the school’s Christmas break.
Applicants for the Welding and Cutting Program must have a high school diploma or a GED; or if the student is at least 18 years of age and does not have a high school diploma or GED, the student must take the Careers Performance Assessment Test (CPAT) and meet minimum score requirements.
