MultiMig 511 and MultiMig 522 Make Welding Aluminum Pleasure
Two new inverter welders can weld aluminum alloys, stainless steel, high-strength steel, and galvanized sheet metal. They are programmed with presets so that technicians can begin welding without the need to setup the machines or additional training. The MultiMig 511 and the MultiMig 522 have programmable options that allow the technicians to customize the operation to meet the specific needs of the customer as well as the working conditions. They are designed to have high duty cycles. They are powerful enough for most of the applications in the body shop that requires up to 1.2mm welding wire.
Technicians in North America are not trained to welding aluminum and they are nervous about working with the material. Repairing aluminum needs training as well as the right welding machine. Technicians who have used Elektron MIG/MAG welders transform a beginner into a good aluminum welder that’s why shops must get a welder that gives their technician the confidence to do the job the right way.
The MultiMig 511 and MultiMig 522 come with Elektron’s patented push-pull torch. Aluminum is soft and the welders that utilize the push feeders to push the wire from the feed roll to the welding gun can be tangled that results to downtime. Technicians have to remove the tangle first. Spool guns utilize pull systems that have a small wire reel on the torch that makes it heavy and bulky. The push-pull torches provide constant tension on the wire and reduce the amount of downtime.
Both welders have Power Factor Correction technology that decreases the amount of wasted energy and help the users save on their utility bills. Both the MultiMig 511 and MultiMig 522 come with storage for the gas cylinders. They also feature the synergic pulsed technology needed by most OEMs to weld aluminum. They decrease burn-through on thin aluminum but give full penetration on thicker sheets.
