Northwest Florida State College offer Welding Certificate
Northwest Florida State College has a successful run of its new vocational certificate program in Welding Technologies and that’s why it added an evening class for those who want to learn how to weld. The night program of the Applied Welding Technologies will start in fall on the Niceville campus. Those who are interested in the program can now apply for it.
The night program classes are offered Monday to Friday from 3 pm to 10 pm. Spots for the program are limited and applicants are accepted at a first come, first serve basis. The welding program will prove students the knowledge, skills and training needed to be a professional welder. It prepares the students for the job market and consists of six courses that can be completed in three semesters.
It was in fall semester of last year when the college introduced its Applied Welding Technologies program in order to produce welders who are in demand in Northwest Florida. Welding is a high skill, high wage job.
The Applied Welding Technologies program is recognized by the National Center for Construction Education and Research. The welding students can earn nationally recognized NCCER certification. The first class of welding graduates has already received their certificates.
The accreditation of NCCER assures students of the program that they get training based on uniform criteria and standards. The NCCER tracks the credentials through its National Registry that allows companies and organizations to look at the qualifications of the professionals and potential new hires.
Students who are interested in the Applied Welding Technologies program should go to the Northwest Florida State College website and complete the application form for admission. They can also go to the college’s seven locations. Applicants for the welding program are required to take a drug test. Financial aid is available for potential welding students.
