Tig welding is also known as gas tungsten welding or heliarc welding. It is recommended after getting three to five years of working on another welding method. Tig welding is one of the hardest welding processes in the manufacturing industry. That’s why the organizers have chosen it for the competition.

Tig welding utilizes non-consumable tungsten electrode that is shielded with inert gas. The arc is made between the tip of the electrode and the work to melt the metal that is being welded as well as the filler metal being utilized. The gas shield protects the molten weld pool as well as the electrode. It also provides the needed arc characteristics. Tig welding provides high paying opportunities for welders. The process is used in high-end food grade work, nuclear fields, repair welding, engineering facilities, and auto work.

Aside from the welding competition, the organizers also provide door prizes, product demonstrations, one-day sale, product demonstrations, and free food. Door prizes include welding helmets, clamps, and gloves.

People who have no experience in welding but want to learn about it were also invited to come to the event, which was open for everyone. Matheson was open to the public last Thursday from 9 AM to 2 PM. There are 15 businesses during the event and a lot of things to offer to attendees.
