Odessa College and Lincoln Electric to Develop Welding Lab

A new approach in teaching students welding tricks was presented by Odessa College, TX and Lincoln Electric. The thing is that both the institutions managed to reach an agreement on buying new equipment within limits of the welding program which will be active for the next three years. The main mission of this cooperation is to create the Lincoln Electric Advanced Processes Lab. Students that will work in this lab, will have a chance to use the newest and advanced equipment and as a result will have skills needed for the current demands of the industries.

Due to the information presented, the company will be delivering new tools and equipment each year and at the end of each year, the equipment will be sold to get the latest version. Lincoln Electric is considered to be one of the leading welding equipment producers and the intention to provide the college with the newest equipment is associated with solving the main issue in the welding industry which is a shortage in skilled workers.

Besides, another problem is that the welding population is aging and companies need new generation welders that will be able to cover the needs of the local companies. According to the chairman, students that will graduate from this college will be more prepared for the modern welding demands. In other words, the college will be training students of tomorrow and as a result, the college is believed to be one of the best educational establishments for future welders that are highly demanded in the market.
