Hernando County Welding School Enrolls Boys and Girls

It seems that all the schools and colleges start developing welding programs in order to attract attention of as many students and scholars as possible. Hernando County School is not an exception and instructors decided to prepare more space for students to gain welding skills. The mission of the school is to provide the local companies with work-ready graduates.

The main reason for this decision is that the local community and companies expressed their great interest in qualified employees who could serve the needs. It is not a general welding program and it has four levels to come through. During the first year of studies, students will be using the curriculum prepared by the National Center for Construction Education and Research. Students will be able to learn about job site rules, material handling and personal protection.

The second level of the welding program will be devoted to basics of proper attire, including metal arc welding and stick welding. Students will get explanation of the principles of using electricity in relation to metal that helps melt it and join parts. Generally, instructors will provide introduction information on welding and its types. On completing the mentioned two levels, students will be able to get their first certification. The third and fourth levels will be devoted to explanation of the known welding types and practicing.

The program is not only open for locals but students from other schools could get engaged in the process of welding learning. Today, the program has about 142 students enrolled and instructors consider that it is not the limit. Depending on the popularity of the program, instructors have a strong intention to increase space for mote students. Moreover, the school enrolls either boys or girls and now, there are about 15 female participants. It is not a female occupation but there are always exceptions.
