Alcoa Foundation Provides Grant to Collision Repair Education Foundation

The Collision Repair Education Foundation said that the Alcoa Foundation gave them a grant worth $45,000 that will be able to sponsor 15 collision school programs with the industry recognized I-CAR Aluminum Welding Certification. Alcoa foundation is the philanthropic arm of the company that is the worldwide leader in lightweight metals engineering, manufacturing, and technology.

The 15 schools will be chosen from applicants of the Collision Repair Education Foundation.

He added that it is vital to make sure that the professionals who will be repairing cars in the future to have the right training and certification that will keep the occupants safe. By working with I-CAR and Collision Repair Education Foundation, Alcoa will be able to help offer an aluminum welding certification to educators from collision school programs. They will then pass the knowledge to their students.

Director of Development Brandon Eckenrode of Collision Repair Education Foundation said that they are grateful for the support provided by Alcoa Foundation to help train instructors of collision repair from all over the country. They are also thankful for the instructors who have been preparing the future members of the workforce. He added that school instructors should be able to learn welding skills that their schools might not be able to afford. I-CAR and Alcoa foundation work with each other to take collision repair school programs to the next level. I-CAR is also thrilled to work with the foundation.
