Bay College West Gets New Welding Equipment for Students
There are a lot of colleges offering welding programs but not all of them are equipped with the latest technologies to provide the students with the demanded skills. Besides, a college is more demanded among companies that are looking for welders that would meet their requirements without spending extra time on their re-qualification.
Entering a welding program, any student will get access to modern tools and can make a professional within several months. Additionally, colleges need to compete with each other and each of them has to attract as many future welders as possible. As a result, Bay College West in Iron Mountain, MI decided to provide college and high school students with new equipment.
Those who are living in the Iron Mountain-Kingsford area and interested in making a career of a welder will receive a chance to enhance the skills or to receive new ones that could help get a well-paid job. Instructors from Bay College West confirm that they want to make their education correspond with the demands of their communities as they are a part of it. They will be following this way and will provide as many professionals as needed for the companies located in the area.
The achievements of the college are revealed in the federal grand of $400,000 received from the trade adjustment assistance community college. With the help of the funds, the college managed to renew the existing equipment and to get more space for the shop which will be located in Kingsford.
These new opportunities will let the college attract more students and expand everything they offer during the day and night. Instructors are rather excited as they can actually offer twice as many options for students as before. Right now, students will have about 40 new machines available for training and practicing their skills.
