Automation of Welding Process Progresses
Along with the growing demand for skilled welders, companies are trying to increase the process of automation. Some manufacturers provide welders with two-month MPTC courses which would help them use machines in order to perform welds but need a guiding human hand. The process of automation did not start yesterday and the companies have been involved into the employment of robot welding systems for decades.
Experts consider that the automation of industries is not going to slow down but to accelerate within several years. Companies need to realize the risks that can be faced if the shortage for welders will become more acute. But, at the same time, experts consider that any process need to progress and manufacturing cannot stay away from modernization.
Technology keeps evolving and companies that want to produce competitive products, need to be ahead of the curve. Besides, the courses where people can get more skills are on demand and some companies provide welders with boot camps. The duration of their education depends on the company presenting those courses. For example, Alliance Laundry Systems located in Ripon invites students to take part in a nine-week course to teach students how to use the latest technologies. Most of welders want to upgrade their skills in order to get paid more as new and demanded skills will always mean higher wages.
Some of students from other colleges consider such boot camps as an opportunity to boost their career. Besides, working as a welder with the machine will not only make you work physically but mentally as well. Nowadays, not only large companies are trying to re-equip their manufacturing processes but mid-sized manufacturers are trying to add the latest technologies into production stages. But it does not mean that the companies will reduce the number of employees as any robot needs to have a trained human eye.
